# LibreChat setup

LibreChat is a self-hosted chat app with multiple providers. Add Claudech as a custom endpoint.

## Before you start

- **A Claudech API key** from [API keys](https://claudech.com/api-keys). API access unlocks after your first purchase.

## 1. Add the key to `.env`

```dotenv
CLAUDECH_API_KEY=sk-...
```

## 2. Add the endpoint to `librechat.yaml`

```yaml
endpoints:
  custom:
    - name: "Claudech"
      apiKey: "${CLAUDECH_API_KEY}"
      baseURL: "https://api.claudech.com/v1"
      models:
        default: ["claude-opus-5-5", "claude-fable-5-1", "claude-opus-5", "claude-sonnet-5"]
        fetch: true
      titleConvo: true
      titleModel: "claude-sonnet-5"
      modelDisplayLabel: "Claudech"
```

`fetch: true` loads the current model list from `GET /v1/models`; the `default` list is used if fetching fails.

## 3. Restart LibreChat

Restart the containers (for example `docker compose restart`) and choose **Claudech** in the endpoint menu.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Fix |
| --- | --- |
| Claudech missing from the menu | Check the YAML indentation and that the file is mounted into the container |
| `401` | `CLAUDECH_API_KEY` is not set in `.env`, or has a space in it |
| `402 insufficient_balance` | Top up under [Billing](https://claudech.com/billing) |

See [all integrations](https://claudech.com/docs/integrations) for other chat apps. Claudech is an independent service and is not affiliated with the makers of LibreChat.
